ON THE GO, click to expand

I don’t know about you but I have officially moved into travel season. Between weddings, get aways and work trips, my calendar isnt showing a weekend at home for the next few months. I am sure you know what I am talking about. I think it happens every Spring and it puts me through what I like to call “the happy panic.” This is where you have said yes to everything, pack your calendar full, panic that you can’t get it all done (a couple times), cry, get it all done, and totally enjoy it and swear you would do it all over again. Others call this idiocy but I will stick with my phrase. It sounds better…

It goes without saying that this travel season leaves me a little discombobulated. I start picking my clothes out of my unpacked suitcase instead of my closet, and pull my makeup and hair products from the travel bag so I don’t have to repack the same things each week. Pathetic, I know, but there is only so much time in the day.

In the spirit of survival, I wanted to share some of my favorite products that help me stay happy and organized when I am on the go. These are all products I love, swear by and will keep me sane next few months.

I will start with my TRUFFLE bags ($32-44). Never would I have thought that these little bags would make such a difference in my life. I literally use them for everything. Gadabout stuff, pens, papers, receipts, jewelry, and relevantly, makeup and hair products. I love the myriad of colors and sizes that they offer and that I can see right through them. I know what I am packing and I know where to find it in once glance. I never have to un-zip, dig through it, mess everything up, only realize “oh, it’s in the other bag” or my personal favorite “oh, you forgot it.” They seriously make me feel better about myself when I travel so I am pretty much sold on them. What I like to put in these bags are products that, I think, really really work. When I travel I just like to bring the basics to save space so everything in here comes with me everywhere.

The It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner ($18) is probably the product I was most skeptical of trying (mainly because the bottle reminded me of those Claire’s or Icing mall shops and in my profession I can be childishly biased toward beautiful packaging) But after a very chi-chi lady swore by it I had to try it. Let me tell you, I have long blonde curly hair that is the unruly type. That I would prefer it to be straight probably doesnt come as a shock to anyone. So blow-drying this mane of mine is a serious process. This stuff worked WONDERS. I am obsessed with it and use it after every shower. If you have frizzy or unruly hair, go get some now. It makes my hair so soft and manageable.

If I don’t have the effort to get it all the way straight it goes right up into a top not. The Oribe Dry Texturing Spray ($39) is the only reason it works so well. This product gives it texture and oomph without the sticky hardness that can come from a hair spray or gel product.

I use three products from The Davines Melu Mellow Anti-Breakage Lustrous collection. The shampoo ($23), conditioner ($23), and the serum ($29). I can honestly say I have never seen a product do exactly what it said it was going to do till this one. If you have breakage or messy hair issues, I would recommend trying it. I dont use anything else and have yet to see the impact fade with time.

The TRESemme Two Extra Hold Hairspray ($4) is beyond affordable, smells so good and will keep your hair in place all day. I kind of get grumpy if I ever have to use a different spray.

A Mason Pearson Hair Brush ($140) and an Emi Jay ($6.50 for three) are two products I kind of hate purchasing because they are so pricey for what they are but at the end of the day they really work.

I was a little late to jump on the The Clarasonic Mia 2 ($140) bandwagon but I am very glad I did. It works well with exfoliators and cream cleansers and makes me feel like I have really washed my face. My favorite products to use with it are Chanel’s Mousse Doucher ($45) because it smells incredible and makes your skin feel so soft and the ReVive Cleanser Exfoliante ($65) because it really does it’s job. The last thing I put on is the Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum ($97.) Though I don’t normally spend so much on product, I really love this stuff. I tried a friend’s before we went out one night and was sold from the moment I put it on. It has this wonderful way of tightening and smoothing that makes me not want to put on any makeup.

Speaking of makeup, wouldn’t you die right now if I went into that also? I totally didn’t intend for this to be a novel about beauty products but I guess it’s what I get for never posting about it before! I hope you enjoyed it! I would love to hear about some of your beauty go-to’s!

Happy Weekend!
