Even though we have only been in the house since June, I still feel like I have been working on it since we signed the papers. The minute I knew it was ours, and maybe even a little before that, I was flipping through my favorite interior design books. Most of the books above now have dog-ears and creased spines from paging through them so many times. A rarity, as so many of us look through once or twice and inevitably settle it neatly in a stack.

A mix of traditional and modern design, each designer has helped me solve a problem in some way or another. May it be considering a new seating arrangement, editing an area down, or getting color inspiration, it is much easier to learn from those with great taste.

Hello, hello. Happiest Monday! I hope everyone had a really great weekend… I enjoyed a girls night, the PGA tour in the pouring rain, and a very rare DIY project I will probably share later this week!

Believe it or not, I started on this product grouping last week, casually dragging things over to the art board as they caught my eye. By Friday, a common theme had emerged and I knew I was half way done with Monday’s post. Another rarity as I am not terribly organized when it comes to the blog. I reserve that aspect of my personality for my client work. But beyond being ahead of schedule, I love the clean lines, touch of femininity, and easy sartorial picks of this post. Though I that top and simple striped dress are special, the jewelry really is the highlight here.

This cutout embroidered georgette top creates such an easy, laid back look   /   I ordered some sandalwood candles from a favorite online boutique, Sara Kate Studios   /   Black Diamond and Opal Oyster earrings sound just as good as they look   /   I keep forgetting to get one of Ann Mashburn’s Bead Necklaces   /   We finally got our first round of lighting in for the house! I am so excited! We selected the Basil Flush Mount for the small entry, and a pair of Vendome sconces in iron for the living room.   /   How amazing are these black D’Orsay flats. I love the latticework.   /   Though I had been searching for something antique, I decided to give Wisteria’s Modern Cafe Chair a chance for the studio. I am really drawn to it for some reason.   /  I recently spotted this handsome journal on pinterest.   /   Unless you can snag them from your mother’s house without her catching you or you can afford the real thing, these small Staffordshire Dogs are such a steal.   /   One of the many things I miss about Charleston is popping into Croghan’s Jewel Box from time to time. Their new Goldbug Cuff is just over the top amazing.  I am so thrilled they have an e-commerce website now.   /   Gigi New York has just launched some cross body bags that really have my attention. That is such an attractive navy. Something about the shape and the way it feeds through at the top reminds me of Hermes a little bit.   /   Just look at that Mignonne Gavigan necklace! What a fun and fantastic statement piece!   /   One Kings Lane really has been having some great sales lately. This sweet little bottle opener was the last thing I added to the roundup.   /   I adore stripes and cotton dresses so this one was just too easy to include.

Henrietta and Wallace are going to be so ticked off but this Dalmatian stapler is just amazing.   ••    Serena and Lily is having a 65% off private sale that ends this Friday. Now that our outside patio is almost together, I was snooping around for entertainment pieces and outdoor pillows. Some furniture is up for grabs too ••   The Three Point Diamond Necklace by Elizoebeth Jensen is a fresh, modern take on a traditional shield crest piece.   ••   Now that I live in a climate that actually gets cold, its open season on coats. They have always been a weak point and I am trying to stay a little bit ahead of the curve as some of the more classic pieces sold out last year. Though I will probably end up with Vince’s hooded coat or Nicholas’s felted wool, how fabulous is the detail on this yellow Kenzo Coat? Such a statement. With fluzzy materials being a season highlight, I can’t wait to see what comes out this year.

My good friend Louisa and I went shopping and we feel in love with these Isabel Marant Crisi Boots. Though I picked the grey and she picked the black, we both agreed they were absolutely amazing. We pranced around in them for about 10 mins and then left the store discussing the hilarious potential of buying one pair and shipping them back and fourth all season. But even with the price tag, and the two week buyer separation, I keep thinking about them. Though they look like your typical slip on that Steve Madden will reproduce in about 30 mins they actually have a wedge heel hidden inside the boot. Result: you look 3 inches taller (and legs narrower) and no one is the wiser. The opening at the ankle is wide enough where you get some distance from your skinny jeans and wearing them with a pair of jean shorts or casual skirt for pre-fall looks just as good if not better. I swear they are going to sell out. The leather is amazing.  Maybe if I have “a really, really, really bad week” and I don’t tell my husband. They also made them in a lovely dark khaki

This floral dress by ASOS is so much bang for your buck. The silhouette is amazing and they have so many different prints. My friend is rocking it to a wedding and I am pretty jealous.   ••   How dear are these little thank you notes by Smythson. Clean, classic and to the point. I love them.   ••   So if you like rockstuds but can’t commit and you sorta fell out when Vince introduced the hair calf D’Orsay flat last year then I have the shoe for you: The Lula T-strap. I literally cannot think of one thing these would look bad with. You could even wear them to the office (if you are a straight baller).   ••  Club Monaco is crushing it with jewelry right now. Take a peek.  ••  Why “Okay” in French on a tote bag makes me happy is beyond me. But it does. You guessed it, it’s Madewell.   ••   I have heard such good things about Equipment’s sweaters that I might give them a shot this fall. I love the little stars on this one. Makes for a funky neutral.   ••   I love the color of this Clare Vivier catch-all for The Boerum in New York.
